WELCOME TO CHANMUS INTER-RELIGIOUS PEACE FOUNDATION

Christian and Muslim Inter-Religious Peace Foundation (CHANMUS)

The Christian and Muslim Inter-Religious Peace Foundation (CHANMUS) is a prominent non-governmental organization co-founded by Chief Tunde Oladugbagbe and Ambassador Fatima Mama Ibrahim. With a robust network of over 100,000 members, CHANMUS is dedicated to fostering unity and harmony between Christians and Muslims in Nigeria. The foundation’s mission is to promote peaceful coexistence and collaboration among Nigeria’s two major religious communities, transcending barriers of tribe, race, creed, religious affinity, ethnicity, and social status.

Core Principles and Activities

CHANMUS is deeply committed to advocating and disseminating peace principles in every facet of life. The foundation emphasizes the importance of mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation among diverse groups through various educational and community engagement programs. These efforts are designed to build a more cohesive society where differences are celebrated, and conflicts are resolved through dialogue and mutual respect.

Economic Benefits and Empowerment Initiatives

CHANMUS's recognition as an Entrepreneurship Development Institute by the Central Bank of Nigeria underscores its significant role in economic empowerment and poverty alleviation. Partnering with the German development agency GIZ under the Sustainable Economic Development and Investment in Nigeria (SEDIN) project from 2022 to 2024, CHANMUS has successfully empowered and built the capacity of over 2,000 women and youth. These initiatives have not only enhanced economic opportunities for marginalized groups but also contributed to social stability by reducing poverty-related conflicts.
